Barnett House Recovery Centre

Barnett House Recovery Centre is a peer-run service that runs a Recovery College for adults as well as an Intentional Recovery Community. Join our online community for updates on FacebookLocated at 102 Domain Terrace in Spreydon, Barnett House is two doors down from Stepping Stone Trust’s Adult Crisis Respite.

Being a part of the Health System, Barnett House is open to both vaccinated and unvaccinated people, however, all visitors need to sign in upon entry, wear a mask and maintain appropriate distancing. We will be looking to host specific events for unvaccinated people in 2022 as well as sending out a survey to see whether people with immune system and other issues would like specific events for them also. Otherwise, all events are open to both vaccinated and unvaccinated people.

Set in beautifully landscaped gardens with an outdoor meeting place called ‘The Serenity Tree’, it also has meeting rooms, a well-equipped and spacious kitchen, a library, and a computer suite. It is a peer-run service that runs a Recovery College for adults 18 years and older where people learn about wellbeing tools to assist their recovery, and has an Intentional Recovery Community where we share our insights and learnings around recovery and create networks.

Barnett House Recovery Centre’s workshops and groups are available to everyone over 18 years of age with lived experience of emotional or mental distress, neurodivergence, minority states of reality, addiction, and/or autism, plus their whanau/family, supporters and support workers.

There is no cost to attend. For more information send an email to bh@stepstone.org.nz

Barnett House Recovery Centre is aligned with both Peerzone and Intentional Peer Support.
