Family Support
This service operates from 125 Colombo Street and was established to support children and their families where a member is affected by mental illness and where this impairs the quality of life for that family. There are two components to the service:
1. One to one support for the parent. This service provides an experienced support professional who visits people in their own homes and works towards a planned intervention of support around managing the demands of their mental illness.
2. Programme and one to one work with the child. There are two components to this service - weekend fun and recreational programmes (two different age groups: 7-12 years and 13-16 years), one-on-one visits with children or young people needing extra support. The graduates of this service are invited back to support others coming through.
